In protest of the rehabilitation of those injured in the July mass uprising and demanding immediate access to better medical treatment, injured activists from the anti-discrimination student movement staged a sit-in on a road in Shyamli, Dhaka. As a result, traffic flow on both sides of the road has come to a halt, causing significant inconvenience to the general public traveling to their destinations.

The injured participants of the uprising, who are currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) and Eye Hospital, began their demonstration on the road to press their demands at around 11:30 am on Sunday (February 2).

Mohammad Golam Azam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, confirmed the matter.

He stated, "The injured participants of the mass uprising are blocking the entire road in front of the NITOR hospital in Shyamli for their protest. As a result, the movement of vehicles has been disrupted."
