Anyone voluntarily retiring after 15 years in public service will be entitled to all retirement benefits, including pension, the Public Administration Reform Commission has recommended.

The commission made its recommendation on pension and other benefits for government employees in a report submitted to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday (February 5).

Abdul Mueed Chowdhury heads this reform commission.

Currently, government employees receive all retirement benefits, including pensions, if they voluntarily retire after 25 years of service or are retired.

The chief adviser's Press Wing released the executive summary of the report at a press conference in front of Jamuna.

It said the report recommended allowing an employee of the republic to retire with full benefits after 15 years of service. This will provide an exit option for officers who want to change their career path.
