One Killed, Another Injured In Dinajpur Road Accident

One killed and another injured when a mini-truck hit a slow moving truck from behind at Parbatipur upazila in dinajpur district on Saturday.

The accident occurred at Sherpur bazaar area on the Parbatipur-Fulbari highway at around 8:00 AM.

The deceased was identified as Shafiqul Islam, 46, a resident of Chasa Soinnas area under Keshobpur upazila in Jashore district.

The injured mini bus driver is Shimul Sarder, 40.

According to witnesses, when a mini-truck attempted to overtake a truck ahead, an impact occurred between mini-truck and truck, leaving Shafiq dead on the spot. The driver of the mini-truck, Shimul sustained severe injuries.

On information, fire service and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and took the injured driver to Upazila Health Complex. 

Confirming the incident, Parbatipur Model Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Abdus Salam said that legal actions are underway in this regard.
