New Voter List By June 30: EC Fazal

A new voter list will be published again within June this year, says Election Commissioner (EC) Brig Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah.

“The previous elections held in the county were not fair,” he said today (March 2).

He said, that in this present situation, there is a possibility of transitioning to democracy.

"The young voters should be included in the voting process,” he said, adding that a new voter list will be published again.

“We do not want to see nighttime voting,” he added.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin previously said the Election Commission (EC) was working on the two deadlines given by the government for the national elections—by December or by June next year if there is a major reform.

He said that the EC wants to hold a free, fair and neutral election. “It will be credible and internationally acceptable like in 1991, 1996 and 2001,” he said.
