Prof CR Abrar Sworn In As Adviser

Professor CR Abrar has been sworn in as the new adviser to the interim government.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at 11am at Bangabhaban. President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath.

He is expected to take charge as the education adviser, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said on March 4.

Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud currently holds the position of education adviser.

Prof Abrar currently serves as the Executive Director of Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) and the president of Odhikar, a human rights organisation. He taught international relations at the University of Dhaka for four decades.

He studied at the University of Dhaka, the University of Sussex and Griffith University in Australia.
