The Chief Advisor to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, is leaving for a two-day visit to China on March 26. He will be visiting the country on a bilateral and multilateral basis.
A foreign ministry official said the chief advisor is scheduled to visit China on March 27-28. He is preparing to attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) conference in China's southern province of Hainan and also travel to Beijing on a bilateral visit.
Diplomatic sources in Dhaka and Beijing say that the Chief Advisor is scheduled to leave for China on March 26 after the state ceremony of Bangladesh's Independence and National Day. The next day, on March 27, Dr. Yunus will attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) conference. The following day, he will meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing. On the same day, the chief advisor will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Sources say that Dr. Yunus will travel to the country on a special flight sent by the Chinese President on March 26. Since the visit is short, he may attend the Boao Forum in Hainan and then return to Beijing on a special flight sent by the Chinese President.
