Petrol Bomb Attack On Adviser Farida Akhter’s Establishment || Photo : Collected
Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock advisor Farida Akhter and writer Farhad Mazhar’s institution at the capitals’s Mohammadpur area was reportedly attacked by miscreants on Friday night.
The incident occurred at a house named Shasya Prabartana adjacent to the Sir Syed road which is owned by Farida Akhter and Farhad Mazhar.
Police recovered two flammable materials similar to patrol bomb at the scene.
After the incident, law enforcers surrounded the establishment and the bomb disposal unit of the CTTC went to the spot.
Police sources said that these were ten-inch long objects twisted with yarn. They contained petrol. If they came into contact with fire, they would burn.
Later, Rapid Action Battalion personnel took up positions near the house. At that time, they investigated the matter and questioned the people around.
A person living in the house said that a petrol bomb was thrown from the road at the tin-shed roof of the house. Then a fire broke out there.
A rickshaw puller informed them about the fire who saw two people wearing black shirts throwing petrol bombs, the person added.
However, no casualties were reported immediately.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammadpur zone Assistant Commissioner AKM Mehedi Hasan confirmed the incident.
