Aminbazar Power Grid Fire Under Control

A fire broke out at the Aminbazar 400/230 kV Substation in Savar this morning was brought under control after two hours. The fire disrupting electricity supply in several areas of Savar.

Inspector (Media Cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, Md. Anwarul Islam, confirmed the incident, stating, "We received the fire report at 7:15 AM, and nine fire service units began working to control the flames at 7:20 AM. The fire was successfully brought under control at 9:15 AM."

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined.

Due to the fire at the substation, electricity supply has been disrupted from Aminbazar to Shimultola, including Hemayetpur Leather Industrial City.

Sizan Ahmed, Assistant General Manager (Operation & Maintenance) of Palli Bidyut Samiti-3, stated, "Since 7:15 AM, power supply has been cut off in the areas extending from Aminbazar to Shimultola in Savar, including Hemayetpur Leather Industrial City."

However, he could not confirm when power supply would be restored.
