Shampratik Deshkal Journalist Mamun Chowdhury Receives 'Bazlur Rahman Memorial Award-2020'

Shampratik Deshkal journalist Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury has received the 'Bazlur Rahman Memorial Award-2020' for his report on the liberation war.

The medal and the check were handed over to him at a function at the Liberation War Museum auditorium in the capital's Agargaon on Sunday (October 31) afternoon.

Earlier, Jury Board member Nawazesh Ali Khan briefed about the journalism of Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury. He said Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury started his career as a journalist in the weekly Muktapath in 2000 and has been working for the daily Janakantha, Risingbd.com and the weekly Shampratik Deshkal.

It is learned that after the death of Bazlur Rahman, the organizer of the great liberation war and editor of the daily Sangbad, the Liberation War Museum launched this medal in his name in 2006 for journalism related to the liberation war.

Journalist Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury has written a report on various histories and unknown facts in the Habiganj region during the war of liberation, which was published continuously in the national daily Kalbela till December last year. According to the decision of the jury board, journalist Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury became the winner and received the medal and honor. Citizen TV also won the medal under the leadership of journalist Rajan Bhattacharya and journalist Shahnaz Sharmin.

The Bazlur Rahman Memorial will play an important role in inspiring journalists to spread the spirit of the great liberation war from generation to generation.
