My sincere greetings and congratulations to the publishers, editors and readers of Shampratik Deshkal on the occasion of entering the 10th year after passing the 9th year of the weekly.

Under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we got independent Bangladesh in exchange for the blood of three million martyrs. The current grand coalition government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has built this country into the golden bangla of the father of the nation's dream, believes in the freedom of the media. People expect honesty, objectivity, responsible and conscientious journalism from independent media.

Newspapers are the mirror of society. The role of newspapers as mass media in a democratic state system is very extensive and important. Newspapers can act as a driving force in building a progressive nation through free intellectual practice. Media, especially newspapers can play a vanguard role in creating a clean society by taking strong steps to prevent militancy, bad culture, degradation of values, bigotry, drugs, corruption and terrorism.

All of us expect to be able to reach closer to the soil and the people by talking about the country and the decade while maintaining the professionalism of recent years to accelerate the process of good governance, democracy and development in the country through objective news coverage and constructive criticism.
