Gold Prices Rise by Tk 2,333 a Bhori

Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) has announced an increase in prices of all types of gold by Tk 2,333 per bhori.

The decision was made public on Friday in a press release signed by Dilip Kumar Agarwala, general secretary of BAJUS.

The new rates will come into effect from Saturday.

Rising gold prices in the global market and less supply against demand caused the hike of gold prices in the local market, the association said.

Under the increased rates, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 74,300 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat gold at Tk 71,150, and 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk 62,402 per bhori in the local market.

Besides, the price for the traditional method gold has been fixed at Tk 52,080.

Alongside, the price of a gramme of 22-carat silver is Tk 130, 21-carat Tk 123, and 18-carat Tk 105 in the local market.

The price for the traditional method silver is Tk 80 per gramme.
