Edible Oil Prices Not Rising At The Moment

Edible oil prices are not rising at the moment. The current price will remain the same.

The association of edible oil refineries had this week applied to the Commerce Ministry for a price hike of Tk 8 per liter. In that context, the Ministry of Commerce sat in a meeting with businessmen and experts at the Secretariat today.

After the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce AHM Safiquzzaman told reporters. He said two refineries would be inspected next Tuesday. Then the price will be decided. The meeting also discussed the uniform pricing of edible oil.

At present, the price of 1 liter of soybean oil is 160 taka. Traders want to increase the price to 168 taka. But the traders did not get support on the demand from the meeting.
