Stores and shopping malls across the country will shut down after 8pm daily starting from Monday to save fuel and electricity.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Sunday (June 19). The meeting was chaired by State Minister for Labor and Employment Begum Mannujan Sufian.
However, the following establishments will remain out of the purview of this decision:
* Dock, jetty, station, airport, and transport service terminal office.
* Shops selling vegetables, fish, meat, dairy products, bread, pastries, sweets, and flowers.
* Stores selling medicines, operation equipment, bandages, or medical supplies.
* Shop selling burial items.
* Tobacco, Newspapers, Magazines, and Retail Stores.
* Motor vehicle service station for retail, petrol pump and non-repair factory for sale of petrol.
* Barber shops and salons.
* Any waste disposal institution and health center.
* Any industry, business, or organization that provides energy, light, or water to the people.
* Club, hotel, restaurant, food store, movie theaters.
