Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh has said that the price of edible oil in the international market will come down in the next one or two days.

He said there could be good news for oil prices in the next couple of days. Hopefully, oil prices will come down. Now that calculation is being done.

He was responding to a question at a press conference on the sidelines of the Twelfth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the Commerce Ministry's conference room at the Secretariat on Sunday (June 27).

The Commerce Secretary said the Tariff Commission would inform us in a meeting with the oil refinery industry. Then we can tell how much money will be reduced. However, it can be said that the price of oil will come down.

The price of edible oil is rising in the country despite the continuous decline in the international market. Earlier, the Commerce Minister had promised to adjust the price more than once, but the result of that assurance has been negative. Although the price of soybean oil in the world market has come down by $200-490 per tonne in three months, the traders in the country have raised the price of soybean oil by $ 51 per liter twice a month after meeting with the Commerce Ministry officials.
