The e-commerce company Evaly has
called a press conference for the first time since the closure of its
operations due to the arrest of the Chairman and Managing Director (MD).
The announcement was made on Evaly's
verified Facebook page last Saturday (October 1) night. The press conference
will be held next Thursday (October 6) at 5 pm. And only then will be informed
about its official return.
Meanwhile, journalists interested
in covering the press conference have been requested to mail to Evaly's email address.
Earlier, on September 21, the
five-member management board led by former judge HM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik,
formed on the orders of the court, gave up the responsibility of Evaly.
After that, the former chairman of
the organization Shamima Nasrin took charge of it. Under her leadership, various
steps are being taken to reorganize the new board of directors.
Earlier, Shamima Nasrin, the
former chairman of the company, applied to the court-constituted board to
reopen Evaly on August 10. In it, she asked to include herself and her mother
and sister's husbands on the board of directors. Advocate Ahsanul Karim applied
on behalf of Shamima Nasrin.
Incidentally, Evaly started its
journey in 2018. But in view of complaints of failure to deliver products on
time to the customers, the Ministry of Commerce has inquired about the
activities of the e-commerce company.
Later, on September 16, 2021,
based on the case of a customer named Arif Bakr, the CEO of Evaly from Gulshan.
Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin, who is the chairman, were arrested.
However, she is currently out on bail.
