The government had announced measures to curb inflation in the current fiscal year's budget. However, in the first week of the 2024-25 fiscal year's budget implementation, the prices of essential goods in the market have not decreased significantly. Over the week, the prices of all types of vegetables and fish in the capital's markets have risen, while the prices of chicken have decreased.
Vegetable Prices:
Kachur Mukh: Increased by 20 Taka to 100 Taka per kg.
Brinjal (Eggplant): Increased by 60 Taka to 100-120 Taka per kg.
Bitter Gourd (Karela): 120 Taka per kg.
Ridge Gourd (Tori): 100 Taka per kg.
Pointed Gourd (Potol): 60 Taka per kg.
Okra (Dherosh): 80 Taka per kg.
Turnip (Shalgam): 100 Taka each.
Papaya: 60 Taka per kg.
Dondol: 80 Taka per kg.
Chichinga: 70 Taka per kg.
Kachur Loti: 100 Taka per kg.
Ivy Gourd (Jhinga): 80 Taka per kg.
Drumstick (Sajna): 200 Taka per kg.
Cucumber (Shosha): 80-100 Taka per kg.
Cauliflower: 50-60 Taka each.
Cabbage: 40-50 Taka per piece.
Broccoli: 50 Taka each.
Ripe Tomato: 160-180 Taka per kg.
Carrot: 100 Taka per kg.
Leafy Vegetables:
Lemon: 10-40 Taka per piece.
Coriander Leaves: 350-400 Taka per kg.
Banana: 40 Taka per piece.
Sweet Pumpkin: 40-50 Taka per kg.
Green Leafy Vegetables Prices:
Red Spinach: 15 Taka per bunch.
Lau Shak: 40 Taka per bunch.
Radish Leaves: 15 Taka per bunch.
Spinach: 15-20 Taka per bunch.
Colocasia Leaves: 10 Taka per bunch.
Malabar Spinach (Pui Shak): 30 Taka per bunch.
Other Items:
Local Onion: Increased by 20 Taka to 110 Taka per kg.
Potato: 60 Taka per kg.
Green Chili: Increased to 280-320 Taka per kg from 200-240 Taka last week.
Chicken Prices:
Broiler Chicken: Decreased by 10 Taka to 165-170 Taka per kg from 170-175 Taka last week.
Sonali Chicken: 300-310 Taka per kg.
Sonali Hybrid: 290 Taka per kg.
Desi Chicken: 600 Taka per kg.
Layer Red Chicken: 340 Taka per kg.
White Layer Chicken: 300 Taka per kg.
Meat Prices:
Beef: 650-780 Taka per kg.
Beef Liver: 780 Taka per kg.
Beef Head Meat: 450 Taka per kg.
Beef Bone: 350-400 Taka per kg.
Mutton: 1150-1200 Taka per kg.
Egg Prices:
Red Eggs: 155 Taka per dozen.
Duck Eggs: 180 Taka per dozen.
Desi Chicken Eggs: 85 Taka per 6 eggs.
Fish Prices:
Hilsa Fish (500 gm): 1200 Taka per kg.
Hilsa Fish (700-800 gm): 1600-1800 Taka per kg.
Farmed Catfish (Shing): 400-650 Taka per kg.
