Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury Made Grameen Bank Chairman

The government has appointed Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury as a director and the chairman of the board of directors of Grameen Bank, according to a source of the bank.

Abdul Hannan Chowdhury is presently holding the position of professor at the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at North South University (NSU).

The Financial Institutions Division under the Ministry of Finance issued a notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Afsana Bilkis, in this regard on Tuesday, the source said.

The appointment of Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury will remain effective for three years from the date of joining, the notification said.
