Moderate Earthquake Jolts Parts Of Bangladesh || Photo : Collected

A moderate earthquake was felt in parts of Bangladesh on Wednesday morning, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

“The earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale, was felt at 11:36 am. The epicentre was located in the border area between India and Myanmar,” said Shah Md Sajib Hossain, Assistant Meteorologist at the Sylhet Meteorological Office.

Farzana Sultana, Assistant Meteorologist at the Earthquake Monitoring Division of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, stated that it was a moderate earthquake. The epicenter was approximately 449 kilometers from Dhaka, at the India-Myanmar border.

No immediate reports of damage have been received.
