The meteorological office said that there is a possibility of a low depression in the North Bay of Bengal in a day or two.
As
the monsoon winds are moderately active over Bangladesh, there may be light to
moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts in different parts of the
eight divisions of the country. At the same time, there may be moderate to
heavy rains in some parts of the country. Rainfall may increase in the next
three days.
The
weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Thursday (July 22) said
that light to moderate rain or thundershowers will prevail in many parts of
Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and some parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka,
Mymensingh, Khulna and Barisal divisions. Maybe. At the same time, there may be
moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country. The highest rainfall of
27 mm has been recorded in Sylhet and Satkhira in the last 24 hours till 8 am
today.
The
weather forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 9 am to 6 pm
today is 45 to 60 km per hour from south or south-east over Dhaka, Faridpur,
Madaripur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox's
Bazar areas. There may be temporary gusts or gusts of wind with heavy rain or
thunderstorms. River ports in these areas have been asked to display cautionary
signal number 1.
In
addition, daytime temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country
and nighttime temperatures may drop slightly.
Meanwhile,
the axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Horiyana, Uttar Pradesh,
Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh. One of its
associated troughs extends upto North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to
form over North Bay during next 24 hrs. Monsoon is fairly active over
Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Country's
maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 35.5 degree Celsius at Tetulia
and minimum temperature today was recorded by 24.2 degree Celsius at Tangail.
Maximum
rainfall for the last twenty-four till 6:00am today was recorded by 27
millimeters (mm) jointly at Sylhet and Satkhira.
Today's
sunset at 6.47pm and tomorrow's sunrise at 5.23am in Dhaka.
