GSK to Be Named Unilever Consumer Care

The listed company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Bangladesh will soon be named 'Unilever Consumer Care,'  a disclosure said.

The name of the company will be changed after the takeover of GSK Bangladesh by Unilever Overseas Holdings B.V.

Unilever bought 81,98 pc of GSK Bangladesh from SETFIRST Ltd, one of GSK Bangladesh's corporate directors.

The Tk 22.25 billion offer was conducted on Sunday on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) block board.

"The board of directors has recommended change of the name of the GSK Bangladesh to Unilever Consumer Care subject to obtaining approval from RJSC&F, members' approval in EGM and other applicable regulatory approval," the company said through a disclosure posted on the DSE website.

The board of directors of the organization has not been restructured, leaving the president and the finance director unchanged.

Masud Khan, longtime candidate chairman of GSK Bangladesh, has been elected chairman of Unilever Consumer Care.

"Previously, I was chairman as the GSK's nominee. Now, I have become the unilever's nominee chairman at Unilever Consumer Care," Masud Khan said.
