The Bangladesh Bank has asked the scheduled banks to keep their branches functional on April 29 and 30 ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure various services to the apparel industries, reports media.
The central bank issued a circular in this regard on Monday.
The banks have been asked to remain open with a view to facilitating salary, festival bonus and other allowance payments for apparel industry workers, employees, and officials along with sales of export bills.
The BB asked the banks to keep open their branches associated with the apparel industries in Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram in the mentioned days.
