The United States has signed a $200 million deal with Bangladesh’s interim government to support key development priorities, says USAID’s Assistant Administrator Anjali Kaur.

The announcement came following a meeting between Kaur and Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Finance Adviser to the interim government, held at the Padma State Guest House on Sunday.

According to Kaur, the US is committed to assisting Bangladesh’s development efforts through strategic investments in sectors prioritised by the interim government.

“The United States will provide $200 million in support to key areas for Bangladesh’s progress,” she said.

The Economic Relations Division of the Ministry of Finance and USAID have signed an amended grant agreement under the Development Objective Grant.

This agreement outlines how the funds will be allocated and utilised for specific initiatives in line with Bangladesh's development goals.
