Education Minister Dipu Moni has confirmed that the dates for the re-opening of educational institutions and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) will soon be announced.
The Minister made a remark today in a program at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.
Earlier on September 24, the Education Boards announced that they were prepared to carry out the exams on the basis of the health guidelines and that they required 15 days to make the arrangements.
Approximately 13 lakh students were required to attend HSC and equivalent exams were scheduled to begin on April 1.
The exams were to take place in more than 9,000 educational institutions under 11 boards of education — nine general, one madrasa and one technical education board.
However, as of 17 March, all educational institutions were closed due to the outbreak of Covid-19. For the same cause, the HSC and similar exams were also postponed on 22 March. The institutions will remain closed until October 3.
