Indian Pvt University Offers Scholarship to Bangladeshi Students

Lovely Professional University (LPU), a private university in India, has announced that it will provide 80 to 90 per cent of scholarships to 20 Bangladeshi students each year from 2021 for graduation, post-graduate and phD level studies. 

The announcement came from a meeting between Secretary (Additional Charge) of the University Grant Commission (UGC) Dr. Ferdous Zaman and the LPU delegation headed by Dr. Nitis Mahajan, Deputy Director of International Affairs, said today in a press release.

Additional Director Md Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan of UGC's Department of International Collaboration and Cooperation and Deputy Director Suraiya Farhana were also present on the occasion.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was previously signed between UGC and LPU in 2018, aimed at developing educational quality and expanding cooperation between the universities of the country and LPU.

More than 800 Bangladeshi students are currently studying at the university in different programmes, added the release.
