After an 18-month hiatus following the Covid-19 outbreak,
Dhaka University's library reopened today (Sunday) only for honours fourth-year
and master's students.
After providing their identity cards and Covid-19
inoculation certificate, honours fourth year and masters students entered the
library this morning.
The DU Vice Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman including Proctor
of the University, Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani, Chief Librarian, Nasiruddin
Munshi and General Secretary of Teachers Association Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan
visited the library on the occasion.
"Students have been asked to obey health standards for
their own safety," AKM Golam Rabbani stated. Former students are not
permitted to use the library; it is only available to current students.”
In addition, the university's residential halls will open on
October 5.
