Due to the
coronavirus pandemic, the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination will not
be held this year. The Inter-Education Board Coordinating Sub-Committee has
directed the students of class VIII to pass the ninth class on the basis of annual
examination and assignment.
This information
was given in a circular signed on Tuesday (November 9) by the Chairman of the
Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka
Education Board, Professor Nehal Ahmed.
"Considering
the overall situation of coronavirus infection and teaching activities in the
classroom, it has been decided not to take the 2021 JSC exam," the
statement said. In this situation, the respective educational institutions have
to evaluate the students on the basis of annual examinations and assignments
and pass the ninth class.
Certificates passed
by the Board will be given to the JSC candidates of 2021 on the basis of the
results prepared by evaluating the annual examinations and assignments in their
respective institutions. For this, the Inter-Education Board has instructed the
JSC candidates to fill up the forms between December 6 and 13.
Earlier, the
Ministry of Primary and Mass Education had said that the final examination of
class V of primary level and annual examination of other classes would not be
taken this year (2021).
