Five teachers of the Jessore
Education Board who were involved in making the questions for the Bangla first
paper of the HSC exam which drew wide criticism for implying communalism have
reportedly pleaded guilty and apologized.
This information was given in the
investigation report submitted to the Ministry of Education and Directorate of
Secondary & Higher Education (DSHE) and Inter-Education Board Coordination
Sub-Committee on Wednesday.
Earlier, the Inter-Education
Board identified those involved in the preparation of provocative question
papers and said on November 8 that the communally hateful question paper was
written by Assistant Professor Prashanto Kumar Paul of Maheshpur Dr. Saiful
Islam Degree College in Jhenaidah in the HSC Bengali first paper examination of
Dhaka Education Board.
It was moderated by Syed Tajuddin
Shawon, associate professor of Government Victoria College in Narail, Md
Shafiqur Rahman, associate professor of Satkhira Government Women College,
Shyamol Kumar Ghosh, assistant professor of Mirzapur United College in Narail,
and Md Rezaul Karim, assistant professor of Bheramara Ideal College in Kushtia.
The Jashore board authorities
formed a three-member committee headed by College Inspector KM Golam Rabbani
and asked them to submit a report within five working days. Two other members
of the committee are school inspector Sirajul Islam and Deputy College
Inspector Modon Mohon Das.
