Five teachers of the Jessore Education Board who were involved in making the questions for the Bangla first paper of the HSC exam which drew wide criticism for implying communalism have reportedly pleaded guilty and apologized.

This information was given in the investigation report submitted to the Ministry of Education and Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education (DSHE) and Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Inter-Education Board identified those involved in the preparation of provocative question papers and said on November 8 that the communally hateful question paper was written by Assistant Professor Prashanto Kumar Paul of Maheshpur Dr. Saiful Islam Degree College in Jhenaidah in the HSC Bengali first paper examination of Dhaka Education Board.

It was moderated by Syed Tajuddin Shawon, associate professor of Government Victoria College in Narail, Md Shafiqur Rahman, associate professor of Satkhira Government Women College, Shyamol Kumar Ghosh, assistant professor of Mirzapur United College in Narail, and Md Rezaul Karim, assistant professor of Bheramara Ideal College in Kushtia.

The Jashore board authorities formed a three-member committee headed by College Inspector KM Golam Rabbani and asked them to submit a report within five working days. Two other members of the committee are school inspector Sirajul Islam and Deputy College Inspector Modon Mohon Das.
