National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) Chairman AKM Reazul Hasan today said that 6 crore books out of 41 crore have been distributed. Preparations are underway to distribute another 4 crore books.
“All the remaining primary books and 8 secondary books will reach the students by January 5. Besides, books for class 10 of secondary will reach the students by January 10 and books for all classes by the 20th,” he said.
NCTB Chairman AKM Reazul Hasan made these remarks while addressing reporters on Wednesday (January 1).
He commented that “money has been wasted” in the name of book festivals for the past decade and a half.
“This time, due to the delay in starting the printing of books and the sudden change in the curriculum, NCTB had to make several corrections and revisions. Due to this, the government is not able to hand over new books to students on the first day of the year like in previous years. However, the online version of the revised textbook is being made available on the website,” said AKM Reazul Hasan.
In this context, the NCTB Chairman said that 441 primary and secondary books have been revised. The online versions of the books will be available on the NCTB website from today.
