Following the resignation of the Awami League government, the oral exam for the 44th BCS and the written exam for the 46th BCS have been postponed. The Public Service Commission (PSC) has stated that these exams will not be conducted unless the situation normalizes.
A top PSC official, speaking on condition of anonymity, mentioned that directives from the Ministry of Public Administration are being sought on resuming the postponed exams and other related matters. However, no guidance has been received from the ministry yet.
Sources indicate that the constitutional body has been paralyzed due to protests by candidates seeking non-cadre posts in various BCS exams, including Junior Instructor. The PSC officials are unable to perform their duties properly due to the aggressive behavior of the candidates, raising concerns about potential delays in BCS and other recruitment exams.
PSC Chairman Sohorab Hossain told media that they are waiting for instructions from the ministry regarding the resumption of the postponed exams.
Earlier, two separate notices announced the postponement of the 44th and 46th BCS exams. The notice for the 46th BCS written exam stated that the exam scheduled for August 28 has been postponed, with the new date to be announced later.
The notice regarding the postponement of the 44th BCS oral exam indicated that the exam will be postponed until September 19 due to unavoidable circumstances.
