The government has decided to recruit over one hundred thousand teachers for vacant positions in private educational institutions. The Ministry of Education is set to issue the sixth mass recruitment circular within the next three months. For this purpose, the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has requested information on the vacancies from educational institutions. Once the data is received, the recruitment process is expected to begin next month.
According to NTRCA sources, around 100,000 positions may be advertised in the sixth mass recruitment notice. In the fifth circular, around 97,000 positions were announced, but only 19,500 were filled, leaving about 77,500 vacancies. Additionally, 20,000 to 25,000 new positions have opened up this year due to retirements. The sixth circular is anticipated to be published within the next three months.
An NTRCA official stated that preparations for the sixth circular are almost complete, and they estimate that the number of vacant positions will exceed 100,000 this time.
On October 30, NTRCA began collecting data on vacancies online, a process known as e-Requisition. Data can be submitted until November 10, and the fee can be paid until November 13. For the first time, institutions have been asked to provide anticipated vacancy data for the next three years (until December 31, 2027). Prior to this, NTRCA had completed the e-Registration process to update institutional information.
Previously, on March 31, NTRCA had issued the fifth mass recruitment circular with 96,736 vacancies. Of these, 43,286 were in schools and colleges, while 53,450 were in madrasas, business administration, and technical institutions. On August 21, the Ministry of Education approved the appointment of 19,586 selected candidates.
After completing the e-Registration process, NTRCA has now invited institutions to submit their vacancy data. Once the data is received, it will be verified and forwarded to the Ministry of Education for approval. Following the approval, the circular will be published.
Confirming the matter, NTRCA Secretary A.M.M. Rizwanul Haque told the media that the demand for vacant positions has been requested following the completion of e-Registration. After verification, the Ministry of Education's approval will be sought for issuing the circular, expected within the next three months.
Notably, NTRCA has been issuing teacher registration certificates since 2005. However, for the first 10 years, recruitment authority remained with the governing bodies or managing committees of the institutions. On December 30, 2015, the government granted NTRCA the power to recommend teacher appointments in addition to issuing certificates. Since then, through five mass recruitment rounds, NTRCA has recommended the final recruitment of 132,898 teachers up to August 31, 2023.
