Dwayne Johnson on Forbes Highest-Paid Male Actors List

Wrestler-turned-film star Dwayne Johnson clung to the top spot on the list of the world's highest-paid male actors for the second consecutive year, according to an annual survey released by Forbes magazine on Tuesday.

Johnson, also known as 'The Rock,' received $87.5 million from June 1, 2019, to June 1, 2020, said Forbes, including $23.5 million from Netflix Inc. to 'Red Note' action-thriller star. He also gained from his 'Project Rock' workout wear line for Under Armor Inc, reports Reuters.

Ryan Reynolds, who co-stars with Johnson in Red Note, came second in the Forbes men's star charts. He won $20 million for that feature, plus another $20 million for Netflix 's Six Underground movies, according to the publication, part of his overall $71.5 million for the one-year period.

Actor and producer Mark Wahlberg, the creator of Netflix action film Spenser Confidential, placed third at $58 million. First on the list stars Ben Affleck with $55 million and Vin Diesel with $54 million.

Akshay Kumar, the only Bollywood actor in the top 10, ended sixth, winning $48.5 million. The bulk of his profits came from company promotions, Forbes said.

The category was rounded out by Hamilton writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, celebrities Will Smith and Adam Sandler, and martial arts icon Jackie Chan.

The statistics are pre-tax and may not provide allowances for salaries charged to employees, administrators, and attorneys, Forbes added.

The magazine releases a separate list of highest-paid actresses.
