Singer Nakib Khan Contracts Coronavirus

Naquib Khan, renowned singer-songwriter and member of the Renaissance pop band, have tested positive for COVID-19.

"Naquib Khan has been tested positive for COVID-19. Please keep him in prayer," the lyricist Shahid Mahmud Jangi wrote on his Facebook profile on Friday night.

According to the singer Kumar Bishwajit, the eminent musician has recently been feeling ill and has opted for a test to have his samples. His test result returned positive on November 12, not having any significant symptoms. In his residence, he is self-isolating.

Also considered to be one of Bangladesh's most respected and iconic music artists, Naquib Khan formed the Renaissance in 1985. Previously, he was a key member of another famous Bangladeshi band, Souls.

Naquib Khan is famous for many of his glorious Renaissance compositions, including Valo Lage Jochhona Raatey, Hridoy Kadamatir Kono Murti Noy, Accha Keno Manushgulo Emon Hoye Jay, Aj Je Shishu and more. He has also written many other successful projects outside his band, including Tore Putul er Moto Kore Shajiye (Kumar Bishwajit), Mon Shudhu Mon Chuyechhe (Souls), Ekhon Onek Raat (Ayub Bachchu) and more.

Apart from being a successful musician, Naquib Khan is currently serving as the Corporate Affairs Director for Nestle Bangladesh Limited.
