Actor Aly Zaker Passes Away

Veteran actor Aly Zaker has passed away at 76.

He took his last breath at the United Hospital in the capital at 6:45 am on Friday while undergoing treatment for Covid-19. 

He was admitted to Bangladesh Specialised Hospital earlier, on November 17, because of cardiac problems.   

For the last four years, the actor has been suffering from cancer. 

Aly Zaker was one of the trustees in the Liberation War museum in Dhaka and chairman of Asiatic 3Sixty.

He got, among other accolades, the Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award, the Bangabandhu Award, the Munier Chowdhury Award, the Naren Biswas Award.

He is survived by a wife, actress Sara Zaker, son Iresh Zaker, and a host of relatives and wishes to mourn his death.
