Bangladeshi popular film actress and model Shamsunnahar Smrity, popularly known as Pori Moni, is in the Forbes list of "Asia-Pacific's Most Influential Celebrities" on Social Media.
American business magazine 'Forbes' published the list on Monday that wrote, ''Porimioni has more than 1 crore followers on Facebook. Her actual name is Shamsunnahar Smrity.''
Pori Moni won Best Actress (critics) at the country's 2019 CJFB Performance Awards for her role in Amar Prem Amar Priya.
Her current projects include a film about Bangladesh's war for independence, while the release of her drama Bishwoshundori was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Forbes said that they gave special focus to celebrities who, despite canceled physical events and activities, managed to remain active and relevant, largely by using social media to interact with their fans, raise awareness and inspire optimism. Many also used their influence to help worthy causes, especially those with a Covid-19 focus.
‘Black Pink’, a Korean band that tops the Forbes list, Chinese singer Jackson Ier is in the second position. Davika Hoorne and Amitabh Bacchan are in the third and fourth rank on the list respectively.
The list includes Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Shreya Ghoshal, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Ritwik Roshan, Madhuri and several others. The list also includes Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and singer Atif Aslam.
