Mosharraf, Ritwick Join Hands for Satire Film ‘The Potty Uncle’

Actor Mosharraf Karim is collaborating with Tollywood’s Ritwick Chakraborty for a social satire film titled ‘Gu Kaku (The Potty Uncle)’ directed by Monish Boshu, reports media.

The shooting of the film is expected to start in February. The story of the film has been set in the backdrop of 1990s in Suburban area.

Monish, who will mark his directorial debut with this film, said, “The story of the film revolves around how a marginalised person, profoundly affects the life of an entire community and eventually becomes a pied piper in that area.”

The film also stars Shantilal Mukherjee, Tanushree Chakraborty, Sushmita Chatterjee, Aparajita Ghosh, Mishka Halim in different roles.

Producer of this film, Joy B Gangopadhyay said that this social satire film is relevant at this time. Though the makers have yet to reveal who is going to play the character of ‘Potty Uncle’.

Earlier, Mosharraf Karim has garnered appreciation for his film ‘Dictionary’ directed by Bratya Basu. The film features Tollywood actors Nusrat Jahan and Abir Chatterjee along with him in the lead roles.

Currently, Mosharraf is shooting for government-grant winning film ‘Bildakini’ directed by Fazlul Kabir Tuhin in Naogaon. Tollywood actress Parno Mitra will be seen alongside Mosharraf in it.

‘Bildakini’, which received government grants in the 2019-20 fiscal year, has its plot around the story of power and freedom of motherhood.

‘Gu Kaku’ is produced by the Mojo Production on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of their popular comedy film titled ‘Bhooter Bhabishyat’.

Raja Narayan Deb will compose music for the film ‘Gu Kaku’ while Tanmay Chakraborty will be the production designer. The film is slated to release during the summer of this year.
