Salman Khan Buys a Bulletproof Car Following Death Threat

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is not taking any risks as far as his security is concerned.

The actor, who received a death threat last month, is going all out to make sure both he and his family are safe at all times. Besides amping up the security cover at his Galaxy Apartment residence, the actor has now reportedly added a bulletproof vehicle to his fleet of cars.

According to reports, a new car with bulletproof glass and armour was spotted on the actor's residential premises. The 'Tiger 3' star has allegedly upgraded his ride to the bulletproof Land Cruiser. Although the car is not the latest model, it can keep him safe from any untoward incident.

Reports stated that the actor was targeted by members of Lawrence Bishnoi's gang. It was noted that a sharpshooter was posted outside his residence to keep watch on him and track his movements. Following the revelations, the actor was advised to amp up his security, make fewer public appearances and avoid leaving his residence to cycle around the area.

Salman also applied for a weapon license for self-protection and met the Mumbai CP to discuss the same. The Mumbai police said in a statement to ANI, "Salman Khan applied for a weapon license for self-protection at the Mumbai Police after he recently received a threat letter."

As per the information received from Maharashtra Home Department, the reason behind the Bishnoi gang threatening actor Khan and his father was to create an atmosphere to show their power.

“The gang was preparing to extort money from big businessmen and actors,” it said.

The actor has also been spotted with additional security guards on the sets of his upcoming films.
