The movie Baby Girl is set to be released in U.S. theaters on December 25. The film stars Australian actress Nicole Kidman and actor Harris Dickinson in lead roles. Filming for Baby Girl began in New York in December 2023 and wrapped up in February of this year.
After premiering at the 81st Venice Film Festival on August 30, the film received critical acclaim. It was later showcased at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival on September 10. The movie features several intimate scenes between Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson, in line with the storyline, and these moments are depicted openly in the film.
In an interview with Variety, Nicole Kidman discussed her experience filming the intimate scenes.
She said, "I absolutely loved the story of the film. There was no way I could turn down a role like this. Acting in intimate scenes is simply part of my job. I have no reservations about performing sexual scenes on screen. We aimed to make a movie about freedom and female sexual empowerment, and that’s exactly what you’ll see on screen."
Baby Girl is the fourth film by Dutch director Helena Regen, who is also one of its producers. This erotic thriller delves into complex themes of personal liberation and sensuality.
