Delta Variant Enhances More after T-19R Mutation: Dr Bijon

The delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading concern around the world. This time new information has come out about the Delta variant. The current variant of Delta is becoming stronger as a result of T19R mutations, said Bijan Kumar Shil, a Bangladeshi microbiologist.

He made the remarks at a webinar organized by the Public Health City Hospital on Saturday (August 7) at noon.

Bijan Kumar Sheel said, "T-19R mutations are playing an important role along with other mutations (phases) for delta type."

"The flu virus has a lot in common with the Delta type," he said. It spreads very fast. As a result, if someone in the family is infected, everyone else is likely to be infected. If someone is infected in this way, everyone around him should be tested. Clothes or tissues must be used when sneezing or coughing.

Biologist Bijan Kumar Sheel said, "If you start having difficulty breathing after the attack, you have to take treatment. Drugs like Delta treatment are available in the world market. It is also possible to prevent delta type by taking vitamin C made with zinc. He sought the immediate intervention of the Prime Minister to allow the production and marketing of such vitamins in Bangladesh as in the rest of the world.

He said there was no alternative to wearing a mask and getting vaccinated.

The webinar was chaired by Prof. Laila Parveen Banu, Vice Chancellor of the People's University and the keynote address was delivered by Prof. Bijan Kumar Shil. Trustee of Public Health Center Jafrullah Chowdhury spoke on the occasion.

Former Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof. Nazrul Islam Virologist, former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. AK Azad Chowdhury, former Director of PHC Prof. Syedur Rahman, Chairman of BSMMU Pharmacology also spoke on the occasion.
