In the 24 hours
leading up to 8:00 am on Saturday, at least 301 persons were admitted to
hospitals with dengue fever.
According to
the Directorate General of Health Services' Health Emergency Centre and Control
Room, the number of persons hospitalized with the mosquito-borne viral disease
has increased to 13,556 since January 2021.
According to
the DGHS, 253 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 48 in
other districts in the last 24 hours.
According to
the press release, Dengue fever claimed 54 lives in 2021.
50 individuals
perished in the capital, two in Chattogram division, and one each in Rajshahi
and Khulna divisions from dengue fever.
The
mosquito-borne viral disease claimed the lives of 12 people in July, 34 in August,
and eight in September, according to the DGHS.
Since January,
12,166 individuals have been admitted to hospitals in Dhaka, accounting for
89.74 percent of all admitted patients.
On Saturday,
1,271 dengue patients were being treated in various health institutions across
the country, with 1,083 in Dhaka and 188 in other cities.
Since January,
12,231 people have recovered from dengue fever, according to the announcement.
