Bangladesh Achieves Global Target of COVID Vaccination Coverage

Bangladesh has achieved its global target of providing coronavirus vaccine to 70 percent of the country's population. This information has been reported in the weekly bulletin of the World Health Organization.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 120 million people in Bangladesh have taken the first dose of the corona vaccine. Considering the total population, it is 75.7%. And the second dose was taken by more than 11 crore people, which is 70 percent. And more than two crore people have taken booster or third dose. According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, the population of Bangladesh is just over 173 million.

Six organizations are being vaccinated in Bangladesh. These include AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm, Moderna, Sinovac and Johnson.

The World Health Organization says women are ahead of men in taking the first dose. The Dhaka division is ahead in taking three doses.

Corona vaccination started experimentally in the country on January 27 last year. This activity started on 7 February all over the country.
