118 Specialist Doctors Get Promotion To Associate Professor Positions

The Health Ministry has promoted 118 specialist doctors working in various hospitals and medical colleges to the position of Associate Professor. 

This information was announced in a notification signed by Mohammad Saiful Islam, the Deputy Secretary of the Health Services Division, on Thursday (October 3).

According to the notification, based on the recommendations of the departmental promotion committee of the Health Services Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, these officials from the BCS Health Cadre have been promoted to the Associate Professor position with a salary scale of 50,000 to 71,200 BDT in the national pay scale 2015. Until further notice, the promoted officials will continue to work in their previous positions and workplaces.

The notification also states that the newly promoted officials must submit their joining letters to the Health Services Division's PAR-1 section via email ([email protected]) by October 12. For officials on lien, secondment, or study leave, the appointment will take effect upon their joining.

Among the promoted doctors are 20 from the Orthopedic Surgery Department, 17 from the ENT Department, nine from the Medicine Department, eight from the Respiratory Medicine Department, and eight from the Gastroenterology Department, among others. 

Additionally, one doctor each from the Gynecologic Oncology, Dermatology and Venereology, Tropical Medicine, Pathology, Biochemistry, Virology, Microbiology, Radiation Therapy, and Psychiatry departments has also been promoted to Associate Professor.
