The results of the 2024-25 academic session medical college admission test for both public and private medical colleges in the country have been announced. A total of 5,372 candidates have been initially selected for admission to 37 public medical colleges.
This information was shared by Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Senior Information Officer at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Sunday afternoon (January 19).
A total of 131,729 candidates appeared for the medical admission test this year. Out of them, 60,095 candidates have passed the entrance exam for both public and private medical colleges.
Selected students for public medical colleges must complete all admission procedures between February 2 and February 8.
Additionally, the notification for online applications for admission to private medical colleges will be published on January 23.
It is noted that including quotas, the total number of seats in medical colleges is 5,380. This means that this year, 25 candidates (25.14) have competed for each seat in the entrance exam.
How students can check their results:
After the declaration of the MBBS entrance exam results, candidates can check their results on the website. Information regarding the results will also be published on the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) website. Furthermore, SMS notifications will be sent to the mobile numbers provided by the candidates during the application process.
There are a total of 110 medical colleges in the country, including 37 public medical colleges and 67 private medical colleges. Additionally, there is one Armed Forces Medical College and five private army medical colleges. Admissions to public medical colleges are based on merit, and students with higher positions on the merit list get admission to better colleges.
