How to make it

According to Ayurvedic beliefs, apple is a superfood which, when had ripe and fresh, increases Ojas (digestion) and helps boost your immunity and bodily strength. When had in a cooked form or a stew, they bring in many other benefits, flush away toxins, balance the body's Kapha and even ease constipation. Hence, it is widely suggested that one should begin the day with a cup of stewed apples, which can also boost your metabolism.

This two-ingredient breakfast can supercharge your system and give you the right dose of energy you need throughout the day. Here is how you can make it:

1 apple (medium-sized)

1/2 cup water

2 whole cloves (you can also choose to use cinnamon in this preparation)

To make this easy breakfast, start by boiling the water in a saucepan. To this, add pieces of cloves or cinnamon stick to this. Once the water starts to turn fragrant, add some pieces of apple (peeled and chopped). Cover it and simmer down for five minutes. Turn off the heat once the apple mixture turns soft, translucent but make sure it does not get extremely mushy.

Pay attention to your breakfast

What you eat in the morning sets the tone for the day. That is why it is important to keep your breakfasts light, energy-filled and not something which makes you sluggish or lethargic.

An aaple a day keeps the doctor away!

If you thought apples made for a good snack just in between meals, think again. In the mornings, post our sleep, we need to reignite our system with easily digestible foods and skip heavy food items. This apple meal can help you in brilliant ways. The red fruit not only contains a good dose of dietary fiber, but the light snack also regulates digestion, smoothens bowel movement and when you have apples in their stewed form, it can even help build an appetite for lunch.

Excellent for the body

During the festive season when you need something to vitalize and refresh the system, this apple stew recipe can keep you feeling light, energized and remove excess heat generated in the body with all the overloaded spices you eat! The additional ingredients used in this recipe like clove or cinnamon have been found to have super benefits for the immune system, optimize the pH levels and acidity in the digestive system, cleanse the organs and strengthen your digestive system-which is all you need before a heavyweight festive season. It is also warm and soothing, which is excellent for the body. It can also help act as a preventive measure against colds and flu during the changing season.
