Changes have been made to Saudi Arabia's labor laws. As a result, domestic workers can work elsewhere without the previous employer's permission.
It is known that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is taking various initiatives to reform the country's various sectors under 'Vision-2030', as part of which extensive changes have been made in the country's labor laws.
The previous law used to change ownership without notifying domestic workers. The housekeeper didn't want to go there but there was no way. Now due to changes in the law domestic workers can change the employer if they want. The employer cannot transfer the domestic worker to another person without the domestic worker's permission.
Besides, under the new labor law, domestic workers can also complain to the authorities if they are not paid properly or engaged in dangerous work.
On the other hand, if the employer employs the domestic worker without her permission and terminates the employment contract during the apprenticeship period, the authorities can take action against the employer.
