144 Bangladeshis have returned Bangladesh from Libya || Photo: Collected
Another 144 Bangladeshis have returned home from Libya. On Tuesday, October 1, they arrived in the country on a chartered flight of Burak Air (UZ 0222).
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the full efforts of the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli and the direct support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), 144 stranded undocumented Bangladeshi nationals were repatriated from Benghazi, Libya, on a Burak Air chartered flight that landed in Bangladesh at 7:00 AM today.
Upon their arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, these vulnerable Bangladeshi citizens were welcomed by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IOM.
IOM provided each returnee with a cash gift of BDT 6,000, some food supplies, medical assistance, and temporary shelter if needed.
