Country's First 6-Lane 'Modhumoti' Bridge

Modhumoti Bridge is the country's first 6-lane bridge. It connects Narail, Gopalganj, Khulna, Magura, Satkhira, Chuadanga, Jashore, and Jhenidah districts.

The 27.1 meter wide bridge would have six lanes including four high speed lanes and two service lanes with 4.30 kilometer approach road.

Once opened, the people of the south-western region will enjoy faster road communication as the bridge will reduce over 100-kilometer distance from Kalnaghat to capital Dhaka, according to project officials.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone of Modhumoti Bridge on January 24 in 2015 in between Kashiani upazila under Gopalganj district and Lohagara upazila under Narail district.

People of at least 10 southwestern districts will be able to travel to different areas at less time. It will also reduce travel time from the country’s largest land port Benapole and Jashore to Dhaka, as the distance will only be 130km.

The toll rate of the bridge has been set at Tk 565 for large trailers, Tk 450 for trucks with three or more axles, Tk 225 for medium trucks with two axles, Tk 170 for small trucks, Tk 135 for power trailers and tractors used in agriculture, Tk 205 for large buses, minibuses Or Coaster Tk 115, Microbus, Pickup, Converted Jeep and Ray-Car Tk 90, Private Car Tk 55, Auto Tempu, CNG Autorickshaw, Autovan and Battery Powered Three Wheeler Tk 25, Motorcycle Tk 10 and Rickshaw, Van and Bicycle Tk 5.
