Atiqul Declares 38-Point Election Manifesto

Atiqul Islam, the Awami League-backed mayoral aspirant for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election, today declared his 38-point manifesto which highlights addressing air pollution in the city by running an electric bus service.

He also pledged the implementation of the Integrated Vector Management (IVM) system to effectively deal with the mosquito menace.

The manifesto was unveiled at a press conference at the Lakeshore Hotel in the city tpday.

The mayoral candidate unveiled his 38-points in three parts: Modern Dhaka, Healthy Dhaka and Moveable Dhaka.

In his manifesto, Atiqul also prioritized revival of all lakes and canals, mitigation of waterlogging and expansion of public space.

He said air pollution will be reduced through mist blowers and other sophisticated technologies in different places in north Dhaka.

Waste will be disposed of by setting up a Resources Recovery Facility (RRF) in Aminbazar, while the collected waste will be turned into energy, the mayor aspirant added.

Besides, multiple-storied and underground parking complexes will be built in busy areas of the city, said Atiqul.
