2 Jubo League Leaders Expelled over Attack on Ghoraghat UNO

Two leaders of the Jubo League, arrested for suspected involvement in the criminal assault on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wahida Khanam, have been expelled from the party.

The president of the Dinajpur District Jubo League, Rashed Parvez, confirmed their expulsion from the party to the media on Friday.

The expelled leaders are Jahangir Hossain, 42, convenor of the Ghoraghat Upazila Jubo League and Masud Rana, 34, president of the Singra Union Jubo League under the same Upazila.

Earlier that day, law enforcement agents detained them reviewing the CCTV video of the UN residence.

Wahida Khanam was critically wounded in a miscreants attack at her home in Upazila Paris on early Thursday.

Her father was also wounded in a horrific attack. They were brought to the Medical College and Hospital of Rangpur.

Later, the UN was airlifted from Rangpur to Dhaka by a Bangladesh Air Force MI-171SH helicopter.

She were admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital, Dhaka.

The condition of Wahida is now stable after doctors conducted a surgery from 9:30 pm to 11 pm on Thursday, said a physician of the hospital on Friday.
