The Awami League (AL) will begin the distribution of party nomination papers on Tuesday for the selection of candidates in the fourth phase of 56 municipal elections. To this end, the party called upon the leaders and activists who aspire to become candidates to obtain the nominating papers.
The information has been released through a press note issued by Awami League office secretary Biplob Barua, reports media.
He said those interested will be able to collect and submit nomination papers from party president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in Dhanmondi from January 5 to January 11.
The presidents of the Awami League and the general secretaries of the Awami League will be able to obtain nominating papers in compliance with the constitution of the party.
Applications should be collected and submitted by the candidate himself or by a qualified representative of the candidate in accordance with the proper hygiene rules and without any kind of mass gathering.
Candidates must bring a photocopy of his/her NIDs card while collecting the application form.
