Janaza Prayer of Babunagari To Be Held at 11pm

Funeral prayers of Maulana Junaid Babunagari, Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam, will be held at 11 pm instead of 7:30 pm.

Hefazat-e-Islam's organizing secretary Maulana Mir Mohammad Idris confirmed the matter on Thursday (August 19th).

He said that earlier Babunagari’s janaza was scheduled to be held at 7.30 pm. But people will come from different parts of the country, so the time of janaza has been changed. Janaza will be held at 11 pm now. He will be buried at Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari. That preparation is being taken. 

The body of Junaid Babunagari is currently kept at Hathazari Madrasa. Hefazat leaders and madrassa students from different parts of the country have started coming to the madrasa compound.

He died at the private CSCR hospital in Chattogram on Thursday (August 19).

Hefazat's central organizing secretary Mir Idris Nadvi confirmed the information, saying Babungari was taken to the hospital from Hathazari Madrasa in the morning after falling ill at night.

Earlier, he was taken to Chittagong for treatment by a fire service ambulance from Hathazari Madrasa at around 11am.

Babungari's secretary Maulana Junaid told the media that the physical condition of Babungari has been deteriorating since Wednesday evening. His condition worsened around 11 am on Thursday. Later, his companions called an ambulance and took him to the hospital.

67-year-old Allama Babunagari had been suffering from various diseases of old age including heart disease, kidney and diabetes for a long time.

Junaid Babungari underwent an eye operation at a hospital in Chattogram on August 10 at noon.

It may be mentioned that on June 7, Maulana Junaid Babunagari was made the Amir and Maulana Nurul Islam the Secretary General of the 33-member Central Committee of Hefazat.
